  • No paychecks will be issued without an original properly authorized and signed time sheet.
  • Should there be any problems on an assignment, please call Metropolitan immediately.
  • When an assignment is reaching completion, make sure you notify Metropolitan, so we can find you another assignment.
  • If you are offered a permanent position while on assignment for Metropolitan, you must notify our office immediately.
  • If you are unable to report to an assignment please call no later that 7:30 a.m.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We seek to provide our client Companies with capable, professional, flexible temporary personnel. Our employees are the backbone of our service. We offer competitive hourly rates, vacation pay, a referral bonus plan, health benefits, 401K and flexible schedules. Each person we send on assignment is a reflection of our company. We strive to meet the needs of our client Companies, as well as the needs of you, our
temporary employees.

ASSIGNMENTS

You are not required to accept an assignment. However, if you do, it is expected that you will responsibly fulfill the requirements of that assignment. Upon acceptance there are four (4) guidelines to follow:

Punctuality - You are expected to report to the assignment on time each day. If you are running late you must call Metropolitan as soon as possible so that we can notify the client of your delay. On the first day of assignment you must call with a contact number upon arrival.

Presentation - When accepting an assignment, you will be advised of specific dress code regulations. Corporate attire is generally the rule. Women must wear a suit or dress, men a suit or jacket and tie. Jeans, sneakers and other casual attire are not appropriate.

Responsibility - We ask you to treat each assignment as if it were your permanent place of employment. If you are going to be absent from an assignment, you must call Metropolitan's twenty-four hour (24) live service (212) 983-6060 (N.Y.) or (480) 994-1212 (A.Z.) as soon as possible but no later than 7:30 am the day of the assignment. This allows us to have a replacement should the client require someone to fill in for you.

Flexibility - At times on assignments, you may be asked to pitch in and assist those around you, i.e., making copies, answering telephones, or running an errand, etc. Your willingness to help out reflects well upon yourself, as well as Metropolitan.

PAYROLL PROCEDURES

I-9 Form - We are required by the United States Government to check proof of employment eligibility. They have issued specific regulations as to what constitutes that proof. No paycheck will be issued until such identification is presented to us.

Time Sheets - A separate time sheet is required for each assignment in a given week (Monday - Sunday). The supervisor at that assignment must sign each time sheet. No check will be issued without an original properly authorized signed time sheet - no exceptions.

Overtime - (1.5 x base hourly rate) Overtime begins after 40 physical hours worked in a week unless previously arranged by us.

Payday - Payday is Tuesday or the second business day of the week. To issue you a check for your previous week's assignments, you must drop off your time sheet for each assignment at our office not later than 4 p.m. Monday or 4 p.m. the first day of the work week.

Please Note : We require the original copy of all time sheets: therefore, faxed copies cannot be accepted. Time sheets must be received by 4:00 p.m. Mondays or a one day delay in pay will result.

Check Pickup/Mailing - You may choose to mail your time sheet to us and/or have us mail your check to you. We cannot issue a check without an original properly authorized time sheet. As we have no control over the United States Postal System, mailing is at your own risk. Similarly, if you do not receive your check there may be a stop payment fee charged to you as well as a delay in reissuing your check. If you prefer to have your check mailed to you, be certain to check the appropriate box on the time sheet. All checks will be held for pickup unless other instructions are given.

BENEFITS

  • Health Benefits: are available after 500 hours of work.
